Tucson Wedding - La Mariposa Resort

From the beginning, I knew that Maya & Alex were going to be the absolute SWEETEST couple and I was not wrong. Their wedding was held at La Mariposa Resort in Tucson, Arizona and this wedding venue was absolutely STUNNING. As I was arriving, rain had started to trickle down so I went inside to chat with Maya to see what the plan was for the day should the rain intervene with their outdoor ceremony plans. Maya was in the best of spirits and said that they were just going to hope for the best, grab lots of umbrellas, and make it happen.

Thankfully, the rain worked in our favor because it sprinkled off and on but for the majority of the ceremony, it was all but gone. I love the umbrellas in the ceremony photos. I think umbrellas in your ceremony always add character AND rain on a wedding day can be hard to accept when your heart is set on an outdoor venue but I love it when couples want to make the best out of it with their photos! I’m always up for shooting in the rain - after all…rain on your wedding day is good luck.

From the burro, to the surprise first look, to the umbrellas, to their pet cat making the speeches, this wedding was so filled with character and people who truly adored this amazing couple. I felt humbled and honored to get a glimpse into their wonderful lives, They made the most adorable bride and groom and the staff at La Mariposa Resort went above and beyond on their wedding day to make sure that the chairs were dry, the dance floor was popping, the food was delicious and the couple was happy. I can’t wait to go back!

The bride and her mom had such a beautiful and intimate moment when they were getting her into her dress. I love these photos and how sweet their relationship was.

This first look was HILARIOUS. The groom was anticipating a “first touch” with the bride but instead one of his good friends pretended to be the bride. We all got a good laugh at this moment. He truly did not know it was anyone but the bride until his friend picked him up from behind. His face tells it all.

Is it a party if the bride doesn’t ask for a “first look” with the groomsmen but ices them instead? They took it well!

As always, I feel beyond blessed to call this my career. I work with the best couples and the best wedding venues! Thank you for having me, Alex & Maya! Your wedding was a dream and cheers to forever together! All the best to you and your family! I can’t wait to work together in the future!
